Conch 27

1998 27 CONCH PILOTHOUSE FINISHED BY Edey and Duff
The Conch 27 is an all-around fishing boat powered by a powerful inboard Cummins diesel. The Conch 27 is a leader in center consoles guided by Key West team helping with a design with an eye toward the serious fisherman.
The boat is powered by a single 380-hp Cummins B-Series diesel engine with a direct inboard shaft and propeller system. The extra weight of the diesel further improves an already solid ride as compared to its nearest competitor.
The layout is ideal for fishing with bow area using pop-up lights, cleats, and 360 degree bolsters around the boat. There's an in-deck anchor locker just aft of the bow, and a storage locker under the bow.
Boat includes a large above-deck fish box forward large enough to be separated into separate compartments and drains overboard. There is extra space for storage next to the fish box. The boat includes a live well-located in-deck, between the fish box and the console. Two wing boxes outboard of the well extend forward beneath the deck and for holding lots of loose gear.
The engine is accessed by swinging the front console seat out. The front of the engine is entirely exposed, and the rear part can be reached through the back of the console.
Everything is easy to get to, including the batteries, which are installed in a heavy-duty tray above the engine, along with a toolbox. The tray can be removed for complete engine access.
A benefit of the inboard design is evident with a roomy cockpit with no obstacles to overcome.
The four hatches in the cockpit offer inner-hull access, one to reach the shaft log and three spread out just forward of the transom. The inboard 27 still comes with a rugged foam-core, composite stringer system with five transverse frames along with an impressive amount of rod storage.
If you're a serious fisherman interested in the overall economy of an inboard diesel, the Conch 27 cannot be compromised.
